THE Western Pennants Bowling Championship is being revived after a lapse of four years.
The fours event, sponsored by Islands Electric Wholesalers, will start at the Nadi Sports Club tomorrow.
The top bowlers from the Western Division will participate in the championship.
Event co-ordinator Shorab Khan said all the six clubs had registered two teams.
He said Nadi Sport Club was the past winner.
"We are reviving the competition after a few years," Khan said.
"All the six clubs Nadi, Sheraton, Lautoka, Ba, Vatukola and Rakiraki have entered two teams each. We have appointed an interim committee to oversee the opening round. They are Santok Singh as chairman and Munesh Prasad as treasurer. Raymond Singh and I will be part of the match committee as well.
"We hope to hold a meeting after the first round to elect the office bearers of the Western Bowling Association.
"After this event the Nadi Sports Club will host the Fiji Open Fours Championship in November. This will be sponsored by Fiji Airways."
The winners of the pennants event will collect $800, a trophy and gold medals.
The runner-up will receive $400 and silver medals.
