THE Fiji Local Government Officers Association hopes more municipalities in the West will agree to provide cost of living adjustment (COLA) increments to its workers.
Association president Rouhit Karan Singh said they had made submissions to all councils requesting them to consider 3 per cent increments for their members.
"We are hoping the special administrators agree to an incentive for members of the association before the end of the year," he said.
The Lautoka City Council employee said they managed to secure a deal with the Labasa Town Council.
"The association on behalf of its members employed by Labasa Town Council has reached a timely agreement with the council in respect to cost of living adjustments (COLA) increment," he said.
"Both parties have consented to the MOA whereby the first 3 per cent cost of living adjustment will be paid to all members of the association."
Mr Singh said the increment was for payments made from January 1, 2012 to January 1, 2013.
