Update: 12:34PM POLICE officers have recovered some items belonging to the three fishermen who were reported missing after their boat capsized near the Taveuni waters last weekend.
Spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said the officers recovered the items near Kioa Island off Vanua Levu.
"The items found included a jacket, sleeping bag, bucket and cargo pants which has also been identified by the wife of one of the victims," she said.
"Despite this latest development the team continues their search and a decision will be made later whether to call off the search or not."
It was earlier reported the group of fishermen from Lovonivonu and had left Rabi Island for a fishing trip on another island near Qamea on Taveuni.
The captain of the boat managed to swim ashore to an island near Qamea and was found by a group of villagers who were travelling towards the island.
