MONEYLENDERS in Labasa are concerned at the non-payment of loans by civil servants.
The moneylenders, who chose to remain anonymous, said they were tired of running after their civil servant clients who fail to pay what they borrowed on time.
They said their civil servant customers were giving them a hard time.
Responding to the concern, acting commissioner northern Alipate Bolalevu said moneylenders should lodge their reports with the Labasa Government Service centre.
"We have the service centre, so why can't they lodge their concerns with the relevant departments," he said.
Mr Bolalevu said if these moneylenders couldn't approach the relevant offices, then "they must be hiding something", he said referring to their status as licensed lenders or not.
"I told heads of government departments in the North during a meeting on Tuesday to talk to their workers regarding the need to live within their means and to refrain from incurring debts."
