THE Dreketi-Nabouwalu highway project will be completed on time, says China Railway First Group project manager Peijun Lei.
Mr Lei said they were making good use of the fine weather and that work at the three sections, of 23 kilometre each, was well in progress.
"Right now, we have completed work on 130 culverts out of the 209 culverts that we are supposed to refurbish along the highway," he said.
"As we speak, construction work is underway on eight box culverts.
"The culverts being implemented along the 70 km highway (Dreketi to Nabouwalu) is up to standard and material is supplied by local supplier Hume Industries.
"At the moment, we are waiting for the FEA who are supposed to remove poles that stand in the way of the project."
Mr Lei said FEA was expected to start removing these poles by the beginning of October.
"We are also working closely with WAF who has already started removing water pipes that lie in the project site.
"As soon as the water pipes and the poles are removed, work is expected to proceed further."
He said work on the three project sites was up to date and would be completed within its planned time frame.
