CHINA Railway First Group is appealing to motorists who use the Dreketi-Nabouwalu highway to be considerate of other road users, including workers.
Group project manager Peijun Lei said drivers should be cautious when using the road, especially in this dry weather because dust becomes a major problem.
Mr Lei said despite earlier warnings, drivers continued to speed along the highway making visibility difficult for other road users.
"We are trying our best to control the dust levels in the highway by watering the road during the dry season and using pebbles on the road," he said.
"However, this will not be effective until vehicle operators work with us and try to be considerate of other road users when using the highway.
"We also have our workmen who control traffic and we are pleading to vehicle operators to be mindful of them too."
Mr Lei said they had signboards along the highway that contained phone contacts of the company's emergency unit and that commuters should use such information when they had any problems along the road. n More on Page 16
