ABOUT 150 students of Moturiki District School have welcomed government assistance.
According to an Information Ministry statement, the assistance will feature up to $120,000 worth of investment provided to Moturiki District School, which is situated in Nasauvuki.
The statement said the assistance would go towards the upgrading of classrooms, boarding facilities and new infrastructure. The development is aimed at boosting the school's student intake.
Lomaiviti provincial administrator Kelepi Kubunameca confirmed this, saying, "One of the benefits of this assistance is the increase in the school roll which is increasing every year."
Headteacher Mikaele Nadaku said parental and guardian support had helped boost the school, encouraging an increase in student numbers recently.
