TWENTY-TWO Small Micro Enterprises operators gathered in Nadi recently for a week-long SME e-marketing support program for accommodation providers in Dili in Timor Leste.
Organised by the South Pacific Tourism Organisation, the workshop session was the first of several private-sector-accommodation-specific sessions undertaken by SPTO.
The workshop was within the framework of the cost sharing agreement of the private sector tourism SME accommodation development contract with the European Development Funding.
It was organised to enhance the e-marketing aspects and capabilities of SME accommodations through the provision of websites and booking engines.
According to the SPTO, the exercise would boost participants' skills in terms of their online marketing.
It would also help facilitate their interaction and connection with local and international tourist source markets.
While the workshop provided the participants with an update on the online travel trends globally, it also introduced participants to the latest online e-marketing tools they could use to benefit their businesses such as a custom-made e-commerce website.
SPTO chief executive officer Ilisoni Vuidreketi said the program supported Timor Leste.
