HARD-hitting Sevanaia Koroi will lead the Vodafone Fiji Residents rugby league team during the Battle of the Bati clash next Thursday.
Koroi will be assisted by Hanson's Makoi Bulldogs second rower Jone Wesele.
The Nadera Panthers rep and Wesele were part of the 2008 Fiji Bati team that reached the semi-finals of the Rugby League World Cup in Australia. Koroi, who hails from Burenitu in Ra, was given the leadership role because of his experience.
Fiji Residents team manager Adriu Nabose said they had faith in the two players to lead the Residents against the Overseas Fijians.
"Both players have good leadership qualities. They have the experience so we have faith in them to lead this young Fiji Residents side," Nabose said.
He said they would try to reclaim the Battle of the Bati title which had evaded them last year.
"We have been winning this tournament for the past couple of years but last year we lost. Our aim now is to work hard to reclaim the title."
Today, the side will have its dedication service at the Christian Mission Fellowship (CMF) Church in Kinoya at 8am.
