FORMER local resident Jimmy Nathu is back on the music scene but this time he is singing to benefit children from low-income earning families.
Nathu has teamed up with Jagdish Punja and performed at schools in the Western Division and Navua to help buy computers.
"We are doing a repeat of what we did in 2010 when we raised $75,000," he said.
"How this works is we print tickets and give this to the school, they keep the funds raised from the sale of these tickets and use it to purchase computers which benefits the whole school community."
So far the duo has performed at Penang Sangam College in Rakiraki and Balata High School in Tavua.
Yesterday Nathu and Punja performed at Rampur College in Navua and will stage their final performance in Rakiraki this evening.
"This is our way of giving back to the country and to low income earning families.
"If any school community is working on a project that will benefit children or the wider community, we are here to help."
Nathu said the fundraising concerts were made possible through the generous support of the business community.
"Everything from sound and lighting through to staging and the printing of tickets is sponsored and we would like to acknowledge everyone who has supported this worthy cause."
