SUVA golfer Anasa Seruvatu scored a one under par 71 to lead day one of the Fiji Premium Pro-Am golf tournament at Denarau in Nadi yesterday.
Seruvatu and Ravin Lal are both tied in the professional category heading into the final 18 holes today. Vili Suguturaga trails with two over par 74.
Abid Hussain leads the amateur division with 68 gross. Mohammed Faiaz is second on 76.
Fiji Golf Club member Veramu Rokotavaga said the second day would be a thriller to witness.
"A good number of golfers turned out today (yesterday)," he said.
"The weather was fine, here in Denarau and everyone are enjoying themselves out there at the golf course. Day one was a good start, some golfers had good scores but definitely the final day will be very exciting to watch."
President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau had a nett of 76 yesterday. FGC captain Billy Singh had a nett of 74.
Rokotavaga said the race for the main prize would be determined this afternoon.
"Everyone is still in contention for the title. We never know what might happen tomorrow (today) so we are all looking forward to another good day of golf. We are hoping the weather will be fine like today (yesterday)."
