THE General Machinery-sponsored stroke event at the Rarawai course tomorrow will serve as a hit-out for golfers ahead of the annual RC Manubhai Ba Open Championship next weekend.
Home town players veteran Rajen Singh and Vishwa Nadan are the top bet for the warm-up event.
Ba Golf Club secretary Dinesh Maharaj said they expected a big turnout tomorrow.
Maharaj said they had extended invitations to the financial members of other registered clubs in the country.
"This will serve a practice round for the players ahead of the major tournament next week," Maharaj said.
"We are expecting the top golfers especially from the Western Division to participate.
"After Sunday's event the course will be closed for final maintenance works.
"Rajen and Vishwa are the local favourites in the A grade. We expect a strong field from Nadi.
"Nadi Open winner young Baarroon Hussain will be a threat.
"National rep Anuresh Chandra has won the Ba Open title for a record seven years in a row.
"The Rarawai course is his favourite hunting ground."
