FIJI Sugar Corporation executive chairman Abdul Khan took time out from his hectic schedule this week to visit Wainikoro in the northern part of Macuata and other nearby cane growing areas.
Mr Khan said his visit was also aimed at identifying fallow lands and finding ways to utilise them.
"What we want to do is find a way of utilising these lands so we can further boost our cane production," he said.
"This is part of my work and also getting a feel of some of the difficulties farmers face.
"This way, we can also identify ways how we can work together to improve the industry."
He added FSC wanted to improve its crop yield.
