WHILE most of their projects involve moving out into the community and helping the underprivileged, Empower Pacific officials are giving their employees a well-deserved break by involving staff members in activities designed to improve their productivity.
Empower Pacific CEO Patrick Morgam said as an organisation that promoted holistic support, they wanted to lead the way for other employers in advocating the importance of workplace wellness.
"We believe employees are the most valuable assets to any company, so they need to be treated as such — wellness programs help demonstrate to staff that their health and wellbeing are just as important to the organisation as the client," he said.
"Additionally, by implementing wellness programs for our employees we are encouraging not only healthy lifestyles for them as individuals, but for their families as well."
Staff member and child protection specialist Sarah Young said they engaged in a zumba session for an hour every Wednesday.
