THE Fiji National Rugby League received another boost to its Rugby League World Cup preparations.
FNRL major sponsors, Vodafone Fiji Limited revealed a texting promotion which gives the public an opportunity to show their support to the Fiji Bati.
Yesterday, Vodafone sponsorship manager Liga Gukisuva presented a cheque for $60,000 for the weekly winners for the months of September and October.
"We wanted the public to be part of this and that is why we have done this texting promotion," he said.
"The revenue raised from this promotion will go to the team, so while the public can engage themselves in the promotion, they are also showing their support to the Bati team for the upcoming world cup."
The weekly winners for September will walk away with $5000 each while $10,000 is at stake for the October winners. He said four winners walked away with $2500 last month.
Fiji National Rugby League general manager Tomi Finau thanked their major sponsors.
"We are thankful to Vodafone for assisting us. To the general public, we are grateful for the contribution that you will make through this texting promotion."
The winners will be announced every week.
Meanwhile, the FNRL displayed the Battle of the Bati jerseys which will be worn by the Fiji Residents and overseas players next week.
