SENIOR officials of the Public Service Commission (PSC) will leave for China soon for a leadership training course.
The leadership training and development course is aimed at better equipping the officials with strategy, public policy implementation, succession planning, project implementation and service delivery, an Information Ministry statement revealed yesterday.
Between September 16 and September 29, the officials will undergo the training at the China Executive Leadership Academy Pudong (CELAP) in Shanghai.
Permanent secretary for the PSC Parmesh Chand said the commission had worked closely with CELAP to arrange the leadership training.
"The whole idea is to get such senior public officials exposed to the 'can do attitude' as well as the manner and speed with which the public service responds in a rapidly growing economy such as China," Mr Chand said.
China's ambassador to Fiji Huang Yong said such assistance was important for the government of Fiji.
He was confident the participants would make the best of the opportunity as well as contribute positively to service delivery within Fiji.
