THE people of Nadogo have highlighted the need for advisory councillors in the area.
Nadogo villager Manoa Tutalai said during a talanoa session their previous Justice of Peace was an elderly retired school teacher who resided in Vunivutu.
"It is very hard to get him at times and when we do not have any choice we have to travel right back to Labasa which costs us a lot. Nadogo is a very large area and people sometimes find it really hard to access the only advisory councillor in Vunivutu," he said.
"If we have to go to Labasa it is very costly as we have to pay our fares."
Prime Minister Commodore Bainimarama has called on suitable candidates from the area to start applying for the position of advisory councillors.
