YAMACIA Rugby Club is headed to Australia to play in the Central Coast Sevens over October 26-27.
Club officials are busy raising funds for the trip to Sydney.
YRC president David Arnold Dakuitoga said they had initially targeted $30,000 to help cater for air tickets, accommodation and transport.
However, they have since secured a few sponsors and backing of Navosa residents in Sydney and a close friend of Dakuitoga, Australian Brad Allen.
"Brad has been very supportive of our initiative," Dakuitoga said.
"He helped us as well during the Coral Coast Sevens."
With transport, food and accommodation taken care of by Allen and Navosa people in Sydney, Dakuitoga said they were now only focused on the costs for air tickets.
They found five sponsors and with each sponsor taking care of three players each, as only 15 will travel, it made things easier for YRC.
"But one sponsor pulled out recently, thus the reason we are now doing some fundraising to fill in for that."
The club is organising a lovo lunch day on September 20.
The $25 lovo pack includes a number 13 chicken, fish, palusami, dalo, tavioka, salad and vakalolo.
"Those wanting to place an order can contact me on 9998594," Dakuitoga said.
Sigatoka River Safari, Grand Melanesian Hotel, Tale Investments have confirmed their backing for the trip with one sponsor set to come on board later this week.
