TWENTY-NINE schools were among those that contributed to Project Cover Up 2, which gave about $16,000 worth of bed linens to the CWM Hospital's paediatric unit yesterday.
Losalini Tuwere, a volunteer with Friends of the CWM Hospital which organised the project, said the community had an obligation to help make hospital services more comfortable.
Last year, Project Cover Up gave three sets of linen per bed, and Ms Tuwere said this year they wanted to include children from the Suva-Nausori corridor to raise awareness of the need to support the hospital.
"We've been very blessed with the response and enthusiasm from the schools," Ms Tuwere said.
"We really appreciate what the principals, teachers and students have done toward this project."
Hospital general manager Soro Toutou was grateful.
"This donation is overwhelming. I'm very grateful to the group for organising such assistance. This is the way CWMH should move forward because the government alone cannot afford hospital services," he said.
