A TEAM medal is on the horizon for the women sailors of Fiji because they are in contention for the individual medal at the Pacific Mini Games in Wallis and Futuna.
Competing at Liku village on the East coast of Wallis, Charlotte Taylor and Sulueti Rauqeuqe are now trying their luck to return home with a medal in the laser event.
The two have only today and tomorrow left to earn themselves enough points to remain in the hunt for the medal.
Rauqeuqe said last week's swells were easy to sail as the wind knots ranged from 2-4 knots.
"But today (yesterday), it's like 20 knots and it's very hard to manoeuvre in winds of this speed and the swells were higher than me," the 21-year-old said.
"The first race today (yesterday), was very tough and I faced some problems so my coach Mervyn Lepper came to help me and when I get any form of help from my teammates, I don't earn any points."
