FORMER Navua rep Ashneel Naidu was the super sub for Sangam FC in the feature match of the Navua FA club competition on Sunday.
His team was down 0-1 to Naitonitoni FC at half-time when he came on.
Burly Naidu went on to score his team's winner after lanky Vipal Prasad had equalised for the Govind Sami-managed team.
Another former district rep Ben Kumar had given Naitonitoni the lead at the Vashist Muni Primary School ground.
At the 2003 Fiji FACT, Naidu had locked out the then stylish striker Esala Masi with an outstanding display at centre-back when lowly Navua shocked Ba 1-0 in the semi-final at Ratu Cakobau Park.
The Navuans, featuring only home-grown talent, had gone on to win that tournament beating Rewa 1-0 in the final, courtesy of an Esala Ali 'Golden Goal'.
With the win, Cope Construction-sponsored Sangam leads Pool Two with 10 points.
"That's from wins over Naitonitoni FC, Jolly FC and Calia FC," said Navua FA secretary Ashwin Chand.
"They drew with Waidova FC. Combined FC is second in that pool with seven points from three games.
"Naitonitoni is third with five points from four games and Combined Two fourth with four points from three games."
Newly-formed Jai's Sound System Combined Two, featuring several youngsters, stunned Waidova Sanatan FC 3-1.
Chand said League, featuring several Navua reps, leads Pool One with nine points from three matches followed by Vakabalea FC.
They also have nine points but from four matches.
The Navua U21 side is third with four points from three games and Wainiveidio FC fourth with three points.
