THE Fiji Chefs Association plans to organise a much bigger culinary competition during the 2013 Moffat Salon Culinaire in Nadi.
Association business manager Adrian Brett-Chinnery said chefs from all over the country were expected to flock to the annual event and would battle it out over the stoves in a range of categories from live seafood dishes to the much coveted Fiji Chef of the Year award.
"They not only have the pressure of time limits but also will be judged to international standards by our team of highly skilled and qualified judges," he said.
"The salon this year will be held from 7 to 9 November at the Fiji National University Nadi campus," adding that entries for this prestigious event are due to close on October 25." He said the culinary competition would also, for the first time, include a pizza making contest.
"A first for the salon this year is the Piazza D'oro, Fiji Barista of the Year 2013 competition, which will be held in line with the culinary challenges."
