MOTORISTS who frequent the roads in Suva can expect roadworks to be completed by early November.
Fiji Roads Authority CEO Neil Cook said while Knollys St and Victoria Pde were the only sites right now, many streets would follow with roadworks.
"The work is programmed in sections at a time," he said.
"Overall, the whole project would take three months and this timeline includes the pre-work that was done earlier on, mainly lowering service utilities so damage to pipes and cables are kept to a minimum."
Mr Cook said motorists should expect more traffic delays in weeks to come.
"Traffic delays are expected, so we ask that people allow more time for travel. For the safety of our travellers and our crew on site, we ask that signages in place are obeyed and in general the public's co-operation for a smoother transition through the maintenance period."
He said they introduced a repair method called Foam Bitumen Modification which was guaranteed to save time and increase the strength while reducing the moisture susceptibility of the road on the granular materials.
