FINE wine dealers Victoria Wines has partnered with the Fiji Jazz and Blues Festival organisers in a bid to encourage and further promote local music.
Victoria Wines sales and marketing rep Joyce Kumari said the partnership was borne out of the companies' support for local art, music and culture.
"We are looking to promote and encourage our local culture, our musicians and our artists so it wasn't a hard decision for us to come on board and be part of the Fiji Jazz and Blues Festival," she said.
"We work a lot with the Western Arts Society. We were part of the 2012 Boat Show in Denarau and we have been with the jazz festival since it started and that's all because of the fact that we support local music and art."
She also said Victoria Wines had the privilege of awarding one of its loyal customers a chance to travel to Queenstown, New Zealand, to be part of the town's annual Jazz and Blues Festival. "The Queenstown International Jazz and Blues Festival is a world recognised event and our new winery partners, Murdoch James - Martinborough, is one of the sponsors of the event and they were kind enough to offer the tickets to the festival as part of their promotion in the local market."
Festival organiser Billy TK Junior said the collaboration with the fine wine providers was a great way to promote the New Zealand and Fiji jazz festivals.
"First of all James Murdoch wines are one of the recognised leaders of fine wine and it has always been great working with them to organise the Queenstown Jazz Festival," he said.
