POLICE are still searching for the vehicle and a driver suspected of a hit-and-run accident which killed a man at Nakabuta Rd along the Seaqaqa-Savusavu highway on Saturday morning.
Detectives are still trying to ascertain the vehicle and its driver who is suspected to have caused of the death of 30-year-old Tavilata Qaranivalu.
Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said they were doing all they could "to track down the vehicle".
"Anyone with information that could help us locate the vehicle and the driver is requested to contact 917 or the nearest community post or station."
It was earlier reported a man driving through the highway saw Mr Qaranivalu's body on the roadside.
The man called police between 1.30am and 2.45am.
This newspaper visited Mr Qaranivalu's family in Saivou Village on Saturday afternoon to find grief-stricken members of his family still trying to come to terms with their loss.
Mr Qaranivalu's body is at the Labasa Hospital mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.
