FATHER and son Yogendra and Sahil Prasad are on track to finishing the season as the number one in their respective categories after impressing in the Fiji Bitter Fourth National Snooker Championship in Lautoka yesterday.
Yogendra playing in the A Grade breezed through his pool matches and is likely to face number two Praneel Singh in the quarter-final today.
Billiards and Snooker Association of Fiji president Riffat Bhatti upset former Fiji Games billiards gold medallist Vineel Nand 2-1.
Nand earlier lost to Singh and was one of the first players to bow out of the tournament.
David Reddy of Nadi who won the third national ranking event was also bundled out in pool play.
In the B Grade Sahil will feature in the semi-final this morning. In the quarter-final last night Sahil beat Francis Ram 3-0.
Bhatti said they expected some interesting clashes in the lead up to the final this afternoon.
"There is a lot of competitiveness among the players," Bhatti said.
"Viliame Umu displayed some exquisite shots and is in top form."
The tournament will commence at 9am at the Lautoka Club.
