UNDEFEATED Sala Gukivuli and Asena Tavaki are favourites to win the Down Under Mining Vatukoula Ladies Pairs Championship at the Vatukoula Bowling Club today.
The duo finished undefeated after three rounds of competition yesterday and is tipped to win the title and the $600 prize money.
Defending champions Doreen O'Connor and Loretta Kotoisuva are also in contention despite losing a match yesterday.
O'Connor and Kotoisuva who have two wins under their belt will face the leaders in the final match today.
Vatukoula Bowling Club official Semesa Lewai said the tournament was wide open.
He said they were expecting the competition to go down the wire following yesterday's results.
"The competition will get tougher in the remaining three rounds," Lewai said.
"We are impressed with the tournament and it's good to see the top female bowlers competing in Vatukoula.
"The green is running well and the weather has been fine so far."
Luisa Khan and Va Vosalotaki, Maria Patel and Sherly Mar, Lavenia Ratumudu and Josephine Josaia and Charlotte Barnett and Litia Tikoisuva have also recorded two wins and a loss so far.
