MODELS took to the catwalk at MHCC yesterday to display what they had learnt during three months of training.
FJFW Ltd's public and media relations manager Lice Movono-Rova said the pop-up show was a test for models to gauge their performance in front of the public.
"A lot of these models were first timers with their ages ranging from 16 to 18 and we wanted to test their abilities," she said.
"They have had months of training and development work so the pop-up show was basically to see how they react to the crowd and how the crowd reacts to Fiji Fashion Week.
"We also wanted to gauge the public's interest and within five minutes we had the attention of the entire mall which was good news for us because people out there are really interested in the industry."
Ms Movono-Rova said that for the first time ever, they were partnering with the Suva City Council, which assisted in a photo shoot for older models at scenic sights around the capital.
She said this was beneficial to both parties because it promoted the event and the image of the Capital City.
