TICKETS for next month's Fiji Fashion Week (FJFW) are selling fast.
FJFW Ltd's public and media relations manager Lice Movono-Rova said tickets for the VIP and the first of the non-VIP rows were sold out within a month of the sale.
"For the first time we have an automated system and multiple ticket sale outlets. In the past we were only able to sell manually from one location but this year we have an online automated system which means ticket sales agents are able to book and sell tickets for the events and it has boosted the sales," she said.
Ms Movono-Rova said they were expecting more than 7000 people to attend the three-day fashion show.
"We not only have interest for the actual shows but we have people buying tickets just for the after-party and that's selling too like hot cakes."
This year's event is expected to be of international standard, not just with the designs but with the set-up, lights and music.
"It's been really exciting, we can comfortably say that everything is looking well and going along as schedule. Now we are just making sure the finer details are ready. Come October we will have a show that even we will be surprised that we can pull off," she said.
"All production and technical expertise is of international standard. In the past it's always been what we can afford and what we know but this year we are taking on experts like our model coach, our light, sound and music, backstage and execution of the show — it's going to be bigger and better.
"At the end of the day, we do what we do so the designers can sell garments so we can boost the industry."
