HIS Majesty the King of Tonga, Taufa'ahau Tupou VI, and Queen Nanasipau'u attended a private dinner with relatives and friends in Suva on Wednesday night.
President of Fiji Ratu Epeli Nailatikau and relatives, Ratu Tu'uakitau Cokanauto, Adi Ateca and Ratu Epeli Ganilau, including a group of friends attended the private dinner at the new Governor's Restaurant, owned by Ken and Carolyn McDonald.
Close friend of their majesties Neil Underhill said it was an honour to welcome their majesties to their first official visit to Suva since His Majesty became King last year.
He added the Lord Chamberlain was also present and said their majesties enjoyed themselves immensely.
The Tongan monarch is in the country to officiate at the University of the South Pacific's graduation ceremony today.
He is the university's 20th chancellor after the appointment at the USP Tonga graduation ceremony in July this year.
The royal party departs Fiji today.
