IT was an opportunity that some members of the public did not want to miss.
Last Saturday music lovers gathered at International School Nadi to witness a recital by international pianist Roman Rudnytsky.
He thrilled his audience and said it was not his first visit to Fiji.
"I have enjoyed my time here in Fiji and this is the third time I have come here," he said.
In Fiji as part of the US Embassy's Arts Envoy program and in conjunction with the Conservatorium of Music, he performed at the Civic Centre last Tuesday.
"I have conducted several performances in Suva before and this time, I will complete four recitals.
"I leave for Australia after my time in Fiji then head to the UK.
"Some of you present here today would never have heard a classical piano display and so, this will be a first for you.
"Another thing about us pianists is we play music by memory."
Mr Rudnytsky has performed in about 95 countries and is a graduate of the prestigious Juilliard School in New York.
