SOFT drink companies have joined the fight against NCDs with the signing of an MOU that was presented at the 4th Consultation on NCD Prevention and Control yesterday.
Coca-Cola AMATIL national accounts overseas manager Lawrence Tikaram said the MOU would ensure the industry would support healthy development for the people of Fiji.
Product reformulation, marketing strategies and health promoting initiatives were some of the agreements in the MOU.
"Reformulation means we look at sugar levels in our products and reformulating those products," Mr Tikaram said.
"Some of the products we will look at, while others are global brands in which we would need to consult, but most importantly we are providing the options of low sugar and zero sugar as well."
