LUISA Tamanitokula is a star in the making.
The AD Patel College fourth former recorded a milestone during the inaugural Fiji Football Association Under-16 girls championship last month scoring a total of 16 goals.
The 15-year-old, who hails from Lomaiviti, scored a hat-trick for a 6-0 win against Kamil College in the final at the Fiji FA ground in Ba.
Tamanitokula has been part of Ba women's development program.
She took up the sport four years ago.
The youngster is a frontrunner for a position in the Fiji team for next year's Oceania U16 qualifiers.
"I feel proud to be the highest goal scorer in the tournament," Tamanitokula said.
"But I could not have achieved it without the support of my team members. Our AD Patel College was the best in Ba and now we are the Fiji champions."
"Soccer is a very good game and I urge the other girls to take it up. It is good to see girls' soccer being given prominence. My aim is to get into the Fiji team and I hope to balance my education and soccer career. I want to thank the teachers and the Fiji FA development officers especially Charlene Lockington for supporting me."
"I have come this far through their guidance. Charlene is the one who introduced me to the sport."
Tamanitokula started playing soccer when she was in class six at Namosau Methodist School.
