THE police are concerned with the growing number of assault cases being reported nationwide.
In response, they've advised people against resorting to violence in dealing with their problems.
Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said the number of assault cases received in the 48 hours ending yesterday morning was worrying.
"Most of the assault cases are a direct result of disagreements between neighbours while some have been alcohol-related," she said.
From Saturday to Monday, police received 24 assault reports nationwide.
"A few cases were as a result of disputes over property, however, we continue to stress that no matter what the reason maybe, the offence will not be tolerated."
