POLICE have acknowledged the public for an incident-free Vodafone Festival of the Friendly North in Labasa.
Northern Police commander SSP Naulumatua Lutunacaucau said this was the result of a tight security patrol.
"Some police officers patrolled the two grounds at Subrail Park to ensure that there were no criminal activities taking place," SSP Lutunacaucau said.
"Other officers were also assigned to monitor homes as owners thronged to the festival.
"We did this to ensure that homes were not broken into by intruders."
SSP Lutunacaucau said although the overall achievement was a good one, missing children was still a common issue at such events.
