VUDA Marina became an official boarding station for international yachts, the first in the Western Division.
In welcoming this milestone, Acting Prime Minister Aiyaz Saiyed-Khaiyum said the improved services would be good for the yachting industry.
He said following rules laid down by authorities would be an important aspect that incoming and departing yachts needed to adhere to.
"There are certain quarantine rules, there are certain immigration rules and there are certain health rules that they need to adhere to," he said.
Vuda Marina's John Philp said the launch of the boarding station was a significant event. The privately-owned Vuda Marina Fiji has been in operation since 1996.
