AUTHORISED drivers of the Fiji Police Force began a three-day refresher workshop conducted by the LTA in Valelevu, Nasinu, yesterday.
The workshop, attended by authorised police drivers from around the Central and Eastern divisions, was a familiarisation course on the laws and road rules.
"A lot of times these officers rush to crime sites thinking they can disregard the road laws and rules. We need to set a standard and a requirement and these police officers too have to adhere to them," LTA spokesperson Iliesa Sokia said.
"There is a systematic way of attending to these crime sites, a way these officers can do it legally without causing any accidents or creating any inconvenience to other pedestrians and motorists."
Mr Sokia added LTA appreciated working with police and was looking at facilitating training for officers in the North and West.
"We all need to work together to ensure that the law is followed because no one is above the law."
