THE 2013 Crest Agriculture Show scheduled to start tomorrow has created much hype not only in Lautoka but the entire Western Division.
Lautoka City special administrator Praveen Bala said the event had grown in size and would be extremely beneficial for the West as a whole.
"I know there will be thousands of people who will take advantage of this show and with most of the agricultural activities happening in the Western Division, it is a good choice for the show to be held here," he said.
Mr Bala stressed that the decision by the agriculture department for Lautoka to be the venue for the 2013 show was welcomed, particularly after last year's successful show.
"The 2012 Crest Agriculture Show was an exceptional event and Lautoka was proud to host this event.
"Last year, we had offered the relevant authorities to hold the show here for the second year in a row.
"I have particularly seen the benefits of hosting such large events and how good it can be for the economy of the city.
"People have to understand that it's not only the farmers who will benefit but the whole division.
"I can honestly say this event will be bigger and better than last year."
The agriculture show starts tomorrow and finishes on September 7.
