FRENDZ won the netball title in the Yamacia 7s tournament at Draiba village earlier this week.
The two-day tournament was organised to raise funds to assist the Yamacia 7s rugby club for its inaugural trip to Australia in October.
While Yamacia managed to win the 7s title, Frendz defeated Mala 26-22 in the final of the netball competition on Thursday.
Netball competition coordinator Judy Kumar was pleased with the turnout and the outing of the teams as they were trying to revive the sport in Navosa.
"As the president of Navosa Netball, I was surprised to see the talents and support from coaches and team managers up in Navosa at Draiba village during the tournament," he said.
"A total of 16 teams were part of two-day netball competition and I thank all supporters for their participation."
Kumar was impressed with the raw talents that were recognised during the tournament.
He said plans were in place to expose these players at the national events to boost their confidence.
"Some of these players include Litia Moce, Sainimere Liku, Ema Nabou, Senimili Raviti, Elenoa Vatureba, Litia Masi and Romena Leqe."
