THE case of a man facing criminal charges over a stabbing incident in Ba last week has been adjourned to next month.
Ravneel Ronish Chand, 27, was not present in the High Court in Lautoka yesterday as he was still being transported from the Ba Corrections Centre when his case was called.
Justice Sudharshana De Silva adjourned the case to allow state lawyers to submit full disclosures.
The judge also asked the state to submit information to assist the court in deciding whether the case should be transferred to the High Court in Suva because the accused was originally from the Capital City.
According to the court, the accused had travelled to the West to visit his schoolteacher girlfriend on August 15. Mr Chand wanted to see his partner who was a teacher at a secondary school in Ba but she refused after she was allegedly threatened by the suspect.
The police revealed the man waited until school ended about 4pm before he entered the school premises and allegedly stabbed the victim with a kitchen knife.
