WHILE the spirit of festivity is alive, police are urging parents to look after their children well at the Vodafone Festival of the Friendly North in Labasa.
The call follows continuous announcements by the festival committee about children looking for their parents and guardians at Labasa's Subrail Park over the past six nights of the week-long event.
Divisional police commander Northern SSP Naulumatua Lutunacaucau said parents and guardians must not be swayed by the festival hype but instead keep a watch on their children.
"We are asking parents to be vigilant and always ensure their children are with them," he said.
"There are many distractions at the grounds, for instance, the entertainment, amusement rides and other exciting activities but it is important for parents to know where their children are.
"This is a time of fun and excitement and we hope it remains that way. The last thing we want is a child crying for his or her parents at the grounds."
