THE service excellence awards evaluation team from the Public Service Commission was in Lautoka yesterday to see first-hand the efficiency and operations carried out at the Natabua Corrections Centre.
Fiji Corrections Service spokeswoman Ana Tamani said the procedure was all part of the annual civil service excellence awards.
"It is an annual event and leads up to the awards later on in the year," she said.
"They are basically looking at our operations plan, seeing how well we look after the inmates, commercialisation and the Yellow Ribbon Project. Officials of the team visited our booth during the Hibiscus Festival and they have been to Naboro Corrections Centre as well.
"It is just an evaluation process done annually for all government services." The team consisted of five members.
