THREE key proposals which break new ground for the church were approved at the 49th Methodist Church in Fiji annual conference on Wednesday.
A presentation from the church's legal advisor, Reverend Solomone Vakaliwaliwa, on the review of the church's 1984 Constitution was endorsed by the representative session.
The reviewed document will now be disseminated for discussion and comments from the 200,000 plus members of the church.
The members are expected to make their comments known through their circuit level meetings and divisional annual meetings next year.
Those comments and recommendations will then be taken into consideration by the Constitution Review Committee who has been given the task to prepare an updated constitution for the Methodist church.
The final draft of the constitution and church's policies and regulations must be ratified at the 2014 annual conference and if approved, will come into effect in 2015.
