MEMBERS of the Sogobiau Circuit at Nadogo in Macuata are making use of every opportunity to raise funds for their church levies at the Vodafone Festival of the Friendly North.
Tui Nadogo Ratu Ilisanita Malodali said church members from the four villages had been leaving their homes to raise funds at the week-long fete.
"Since it is also the school holidays, the members have decided to come for the purpose of raising between $4000 and $5000 for our church levies," he said.
"Our target is $6000 and this festival is an opportunity for us to raise such an amount. The members have prepared seafood, handicraft items, vegetables and other items to be sold at our stall."
Ratu Ilisanita said people had been crowding their stall over the past few nights.
"We have been receiving some good income and we thank the public for their support.
"The money we are receiving is indeed a great assistance as our members don't have to struggle for their levies like in the past.
"We thank the festival committee for this opportunity and we hope people will continue to come in large numbers to support this charitable event."
