CELEBRATIONS continue for the champion Ratu Navula College under-18 rugby team as the vanua of Nadi takes turns hosting the young gladiators for winning the Deans trophy a fortnight ago.
The side was hosted at Dratabu Village on Tuesday night where the villagers were given the opportunity to see the coveted secondary schools rugby jewel.
The side was accorded a full traditional welcome before the villagers had the chance of taking photos with their young rugby heroes.
The Deans trophy was left for a night at the village before being picked up by team officials yesterday.
Villager Malikieli Namua said the school had created history for the people of Nadi.
"Nadi had won the Farebother trophy and the Digicel Cup and we are proud for these young boys in creating another chapter in the history book of Nadi rugby," he said.
"The boys have also given other Western schools the confidence to win the Deans."
Team manager Ananaisa Qio said the team was overwhelmed with the support from the vanua of Nadi and the business communities.
"Since last week we have been treated at various hotels in Denarau such as Hilton, Sheraton and Sofitel thanking the boys for their achievements," said Qio.
"The boys are honoured to be treated like royals in all the villages we have visited.
"We thank all the villages, hotels, business houses and individuals for the support.
"It is this kind of support that will inspire the boys in our defence next season."
Some of the villages that had hosted the team included Nawaka, Narewa and Viseisei, Sabeto.
