COLD weather conditions experienced in the North failed to stop people from turning out in numbers for Labasa's week-long Festival of the Friendly North.
Among adults are children wearing warm jackets, pompoms and scarfs as they brave the cold to be part of the event.
At Subrail Park's ground two, the conditions were not an issue for stallholders, amusement ride owners and businesses in town as they continued to record sales.
On ground one, the high-spirited crowd kept themselves entertained as the contestants showed themselves off in creative and stunning attires.
On Tuesday night, the king contestants tested their knowledge and confidence in their first public judging. Mr Parmod Enterprises Limited Peni Koroi wowed the crowd when he said he chose love marriage instead of arranged marriage.
The Naravuka villager of Seaqaqa said it was better for people to fall in love and get married and not to marry without falling in love.
"With love, we are able to work together and build a better Fiji for all," he said.
The festival is sponsored by Vodafone Fiji.
