THREE men allegedly involved in the aggravated robbery of former parliamentarian Shiu Raj at his home last week appeared in the Tavua Magistrates Court yesterday.
Joeli Baleilevuka of Sikituru, Nadi, Sakiusa Tukana of Korociri, Nadi, and Watisoni Sagalagilagi of Votualevu, Nadi, are charged with four counts of aggravated robbery, grievous bodily harm, assault causing actual bodily harm and theft.
Police prosecution made an application for the case to be transferred to the High Court in Lautoka and for the suspects to be remanded.
The court also heard the application made by the victim's solicitor William Rosa for the exhibit money of $93,000 to be returned to the victim.
The court had ordered that the application be made at the High Court. It also ordered that the suspects' bail applications be submitted in the next court proceedings.
The matter has been adjourned to September 20.
