THE LTA board has approved the review of procedures and criteria for driving public service vehicles.
Authority CEO Naisa Tuinaceva said the review was approved on Monday. He said they would move towards the implementation of the new laws within three to four weeks.
"We will have consultations with those who provide training on fire safety and first aid for PSV drivers," Mr Tuinaceva said.
Under the reviewed criteria, all PSV drivers would need to have Form Six qualification.
And those drivers who do not meet the required qualification will have to go through a refresher program conducted by the authority or they will not be allowed to drive.
Mr Tuinaceva said the new law was aimed at drivers who had bad attitude towards members of the public, their passengers and also non-PSV drivers.
