THE Kadavu Provincial Council would like to see Kadavu improve and develop not only in terms of infrastructure, but its people as well.
Council chairman Aminiasi Katonivualiku made these comments at the start of the council's three-day meeting in Suva yesterday.
Apart from development, Mr Katonivualiku said they would also focus on their estimate for this year, next year and 2015.
He said the chiefs of Kadavu were united which was a positive sign as they strived towards a better Fiji.
Mr Katonivualiku further explained that the chiefs' unity would pave the way for the people to leave aside their differences and work together towards developing a better province for their own benefit.
He said Kadavu, like any other province, wanted to move forward and receive its fair share of development assistance from the government.
"For the development, most of the issues that were brought up by various districts were discussed with the commissioner eastern on Monday and the divisional planning officers," Mr Katonivualiku said.
"We would like Kadavu to improve and develop properly. Everything is on track at the moment."
The former magistrate is optimistic the meeting will allow them to find solutions to every issue raised.
