ABOUT 30 artists are showcasing their talents at the Western Arts and Crafts Exhibition at the Raddison Blu Resort and Hotel on Denarau.
A member of the event organising committee Colette Samson said there were more artists last year. For those who participated last year, many were away in Australia for workshops.
"We leave the judging of the paintings and crafts to the public," Ms Samson said.
She said those who visited the exhibition got the chance to vote.
The winner receives $1000.
"Apart from the main participants, we also have about 18 pieces from some of our youngest exhibitors who are school students. It was a lot of work getting everyone involved and our organisers had gone to the schools to urge them to encourage students to take part and we are glad many of these students came up."
